Behind youkai aus, this genre is probably the one I think about the most. I didn't think of a set period when this specific au takes place (maybe after the warring period?) but the plot combines a historical au, the abilities of canon, and omegaverse, where Ranpo is from a high ranking family and an Omega, and Dazai is his servant/assistant using No Longer Human to mask his true Alpha scent to be perceived as a Beta. In this au, Alpha's are forbidden from being servants in a household because... well, you know. They end up having a secret, forbidden relationship between master and servant.

That was probably one of the biggest highlights of my life, and I made so many dear friends from that time. I don't talk to 90% of them anymore, but I cherish all the things I got during that era and look at them often. To this day, I think it was a very hot choice to put Ranpo in a corset.

(You know, since Ranpo's father is very blatantly based on Detective Akechi.) This rival, 20 Faces, took Dazai from his neglectful family and decided to raise him as an apprentice. Thus, Dazai and Ranpo became childhood friends of sorts. Dazai, using what he's learned from his mentor, tries to gain Ranpo's affection, but Ranpo thinks he's just trying to joke around and turns him down. (Unfortunately, Dazai is actually quite serious about his feelings.
